Welcome
About
Hi! My name's Alister. This is my website. It started off as an experiment in 1996, and never really stopped.
I've finished school. So maybe now I'll get around to fixing these pages.

He stopped paying his host and my site was lost to the world for a while. Janneman now hosts my site. Send HIM the éclairs.

Before my prebacs
I hope all you strangers out there are enjoying the holidays.
Chances are this is going to remain a dead site for the next few months. See you all after the prebacs (European Baccaleureate preliminary examinations).
Oh, and click here. Then click some more. You know you want to.

I seem to have become hostile to "strangers" around this time. I'm blaming the Daily Mail.

I don't know what that link originally pointed to. I've modified it so it points to what I think it was pointing to.

This page now uses XHTML 1.0
I support FairPlay - the campaign for cheaper videogames.

In case you're wondering what that's all about, it's my excuse for having a Jazz Jackrabbit section on this site. You see, I rarely buy video games due to their price. I have a self-imposed €20 limit which pretty much makes it impossible for me to buy good games.
So come on. DON'T BUY ANY VIDEOGAMES BETWEEN THE 1ST AND 8TH DECEMBER.

In other news, I have now succumbed to the evil of mobile phones.
I'm also seriously considering making a webcoming. Despite the fact that there are an almost infinite number already out there.

Those of you who have actually visited this site more than once will have noticed that it doesn't get updated much. Well, I'm in my final year of school now, so it will get updated even less.

The page used transitional XHTML, and only in late 2006 did the site move to strict XHTML.

My self-imposed €20 limit was unrealisitcally low for an upper limit. Also, note the artful use of ALL CAPS IN BOLD.

I don't know how I could have tagged mobiles as "evil." These days I can't manage without one.

Yesterday was interesting. Despite my school being outstandingly liberal, certain pupils went on strike because of "limits to our freedom".
The school is planning on putting a 2 metre fence all around the school, with only one entrance and exit. I don't see the problem, but the druggies and the freedom-freaks do. More people still just went on strike to skip lessons. The whole affair was a farce from beginning to end.
Still, it was exciting. Someone brought drums. someone brought a horn, and at one point climbed onto the canteen roof to set it off.
Someone phoned RTL, and the whole crowd surged towards the camera crew when it arrived.

"the druggies and the freedom-freaks"

When I was young, I read the Daily Mail. Does it show?

I'm a lot more liberal now, but I still think the cause was ridiculous. But then, so was the fence. Of course, I doubt most of the people who went on strike actually cared that much. They did get to skip classes, though.

RTL is Luxembourg's national broadcaster. Apparently it's also Europe's largest TV, radio and production company.
